Zhangjiakou 500 kV Jiefang Substation, which was put into operation on December 23, 2019, is an important superior power source for seven core power stations. This station is the key node of double ring road network in the core area of the Winter Olympics and the third power supply for zhangjiakou Olympic Games. 

Its operation will meet the requirements of high reliability power supply for the Winter Olympic Games.

It is also an initiative in the history of the Olympic Games to improve the clean energy consumption capacity of the Winter Olympic venues and make the 2022 Winter Olympic Games the first time that all venues are covered with green electricity.
